Nostalgic : KV Wellington
My Old Schools
- KV Wellington :
* Did my class 4th : 1989-1990
* http://www.kvwellington.org/pictgal.asp
* The school is situated on hill top, with only slopes all around.
* I recall
o having lunch in break rolling over the grass on the school slopes.
o My class 4-B, which had entrance through two other classes. So whole 4-B was at mercy of other two class students and teachers.
o A shop in the premises which used to sell the zippy toffee.
o Playing stappu waiting for the bus.
o A crashed car down the valley
o Train tracks down the valley that had trains plying once in a while.
o The big pipes (water/sewer ?) around which we all used to jump up/slide down etc...(They were quite clean from outside :))
o Me getting punishment for not being upto mark in Hindi class (not sure reaso?!)
o My maths sir (nice), Hindi sir ( terror ), Social Studies Sir ( favourite ).
o A friend who used to hum a lot : "Hawa Hawa, eh hawah julfen ..."
o Me playing hand cricket, kho-kho, langdi-tang...
- Army School Ambala Cantt.
* Did my class 8th - 12th (1994-1998)

* Shall write a seperate blog for this! Too many memories...

Wow .. you found the website for KV wellington.
I was in III-A, I think my bus number was 516. I remember the school had wooden floors. And the rickety ole staircase made a helluva noise when somebody ran by.
I remember being made "murga" for three consecutive days, whole day long, for forgetting my english work-book.
Sketching a hovercraft in the art class.
Attending the morning assembly, and the whole assembly giggling when it came to the "udagu udagu" part in the "Kudi vilayad papa" song .. not sure of the wordings .. but it was a tamil song we used to sing in the prayer. I remember being anxious about not knowing the words to the song.. used to do lip-sync. Didn't even know if I was supposed to know the song or not.(was a new transfer to the school) :)
I remember the big sewer pipes too. Source of much entertainment and exercise during lunch-breaks. But I thought they were strictly forbidden territory.
I also remember playing stappu(to use your spelling as I was unsure) and sliding down the lush green slopes.
Boy what days. :)

thanx for finding out the school's site.......i was there from 1993-class 3rd to 2000- class Xth...
& yup.. those craeky wodden floors banged like drums when we used to run over them. then somebody used to come & shout at us for creating..such mayhem..........
those school days were awesome.......
i remember big pipes too. infact.. there were 2pipes.. one directly going into the ground.. from the schol ground's elavation.. & the other streched acrross horizontally dangling miday in the air ... before going back into the ground... in fact we used 2 bet who'd dare to climb down the other pipes.. & i also remember having played cricket a lot.........there sure was a good deal of competition.......
& football during rains. it was simply freak out time ........
late comers were made to stand ina line after the mornming assembly........
the assembly itself being a torture & u cud see students fainting often after a prolonged morning assembly...
& those Mass PT sessions.. ending with a round the school run.....
those days were sure fun....:D

Hello Gautam
I am Mrs. Rajeswari,a Maths teacher handling classes VI to X and I am here in the same school from 2005 till date. It was true that the school you were in was an officer's bungalow converted to a school. But now the situation is changed. we have a wonderful building of our own,a few yards away from the original place. Vast area for play grounds, garden full of flowers and big class rooms and computer rooms etc.is admired by people whoever visit the school.
Have a look at our web site www.kvwellington.nic.in

Dear Madam (@ Mrs Rajeswari),
It is a pleasant suprise to hear from current Principal of my school.
The website is very nice and am impressed by the amount of neatly classified information it contains.
I wish the school all the best in training new minds for our society. I have very fond memories of my schooling at KV Wellington, and hope current batch of students also carry similar and more wonderful memories from the new school!

Aw, this was a really nice post. In idea I would like to put in writing like this additionally - taking time and actual effort to make a very good article… but what can I say… I procrastinate alot and by no means seem to get something done.
